Graffiti and Street Art Photography
URBAN SHUTTERBUG UK
Urban Shutterbug Photography is a documentary project by photographer Gavin Conwill. Exploring a passion for Graffiti & Street Art, unique for it’s temporary nature. Conwill’s camera provides a lasting record of the artists and murals throughout this diverse and vibrant art movement.
Three years since it’s inception, Urban Shutterbug has captured the best of Graffiti and Street Art throughout the UK. Locations include Bristol, London and Manchester amongst others, establishing an excellent rapport with the artists of this dynamic art genre.
Urban Shutterbug comprises three key projects:
- Perception aims to document the public’s reaction to Urban Art. Some eagerly observe, while others pass by unaware. Perception explores our Appreciation vs Disregard.
- Process is a study of the Street Artist. Our protagonists take a pictorial approach to their art. Process highlights varying styles and techniques throughout the individual’s creative journey from sketchpad to wall.
- The Graff Sessions pays tribute to Graffiti, the art form that inspired a cultural revolution. Anonymous and understated but with a burning desire to proclaim their name. The Graff Sessions highlights the Graffiti artist, who paint not for fame and fortune but for their love of the wall.
